When I was 6, the second best present I ever got was ABBA’s “Arrival” album off Santa. However, the VERY best gift I ever received was my Aunty Christine who had a deep and abiding love of rock music and schooled me in the music of Midnight Oil, The Divinyls and Kate Bush by making mix tapes and posting them to me.
I worship at the church of rock. I’m mad passionate about the transformative power of 3 cords, the truth and a tight black T-shirt.
I believe that the best music ever made is the track still to be discovered. I’m a total music snob and I’ll sneer at ownership of Chainsmokers CD’s but I’ll bang on for days about all the enduring life advice contained in the Nine Inch Nails music catalogue.
I’ve grown bored of having my love of rock take up sole ownership in my brain so I’m cataloguing this adoration by posting semi-regularly. There’s no sign up, I have zero interest in gathering your emails and setting up some bullshit privacy statement about keeping your details super secret so if I get super pissy one night I don’t sell your deets to a Tunisian sock merchant. Check back here every fortnight or so…maybe I’ve posted something, maybe I’m tits deep in listening to Janelle Monae. It goes like that.
When I’m not trawling the interwebs, plotting the next live music outing I can be found rowing on the Lane Cove River at 5.30am, making slutty brownies and doing that CEO thing for Diva Works.
Horn’s up, lovers!
